Bach-Marathon
On November 27th, 2011, the Chamber Hall of Moscow International House of Music will be the site of one of the Festival’s grand events – “Bach-Marathon”. For the first time, all Bach’s concerts in every instrumental version will be performed in one day: the marathon will start at 11 am and will continue for ten hours. Celebrated musicians from all over the world will represent music traditions of Russia, America and Europe: the pianists Alexander Ghindin, Andrei Korobeinikov, Andrei Gugnin, Peter Laul, Alexei Volodin, François Frédéric Guy (France), Elena Filonova (France), Christopher Taylor (USA), Lovro Pogorelich (Croatia), Anastasia Volchok (Switzerland), Ratimir Martinović (Montenegro); piano duets Irina Silivanova and Maxim Puryzhinskiy, Carlos Lama and Sofia Cabruja (Spain); the violinists Iliya Gringolts, Alexander Trostiansky, Nikolai Sachenko, Nikita Borisoglebsky; the flutists Marina Rubinstein, Ingela Oien (Norway), oboist Gordana Josifova Nedelkovska (Macedonia).
The soloists will be accompanied by the Moscow Conservatory Chamber Orchestra lead by Felix Korobov, chief conductor of Stanislavsky and Nemirovich-Danchenko Moscow Musical Theatre.
